Frequently Asked Questions
Where is my review data stored?
Your keep/trash decisions and ratings are saved in a .culltrain.json file in the same folder as your photos. This file stays with your photos and never leaves your computer.
Can I undo a decision?
Yes! Simply navigate back to the photo and change your decision. Nothing is permanently deleted until you explicitly choose to delete trashed photos.
What image formats are supported?
CullTrain supports all image formats that macOS supports, including JPEG, PNG, HEIC, RAW files (CR2, NEF, ARW, etc.), and more.
Does CullTrain modify my original photos?
No. CullTrain never modifies your original files. Ratings and decisions are stored separately in the .culltrain.json file.
How do I permanently delete trashed photos?
Use the "Delete Trashed" button in the toolbar. Photos are moved to the system Trash, so you can still recover them if needed.
